He graduated from the High School of Industrial Arts and got his start in the sport of gymnastics in the central YMCA in Brooklyn. WebMar 11, 2024 · Tonry has served under a combined six different Yale presidents and athletic directors and has won 16 Ivy League Championships. Her coaching history is the program’s history, and since assuming her role as head coach in 1973, Tonry has captured a spot in the U.S. Gymnastics Federation Hall of Fame.
